Me

I could draw
The most beautiful portrait
Or paint
The most beautiful lands

But what of it would be me?
The brush and paint
Come closer to me
Than the pictures I've tainted

With various hallucinations
Of things so 'meant to be'

But what am I?
No, who am I?

Who am I to say?
What am I to know?
before the screen finally comes
tumbling down?

I am eternity
Boxed up in this little jar
This little suit
This complex body

But with the body comes
the mind
And with the mind comes
the ego

And again,
who am I to say no?

We live out our lives
Always trying to say
'I'm Right!'
'No, You're wrong!'

And we all just get lost in between...

And so I sit,
And I observe
And I still
And I wait

For this eternity
to pass me by...

Animated
We are intimately animated...

we dream and we do
we integrate, perform, engage, and uncover

we're explorers in a world of physically-gelled energy

we are each the intricate art
that we imagine ourselves to be
for life is what it is
and we blend with its impressions

...as to eternity,
that is always this moment,
...we will forever be bonding
with our continually-occurring now....

in stillness and in action
we are steadily,
in the company,
of our present... :^)

In stillness and silence
Come the purest revelations
Of the past in the present
And the future in the past

And yet this single moment
shall pass me by

What I feel
and what I know
Are things that have come to me
And yet they are not me

For how could they be me,
If I am them?

We build ourselves
Such grand designs -
Fortresses that we may call home
Castles we may call ours

But all shall come to pass
all shall be turned to dust

All...
all but the purest revelation
of life's true passing beauty
and beauty of passing

Birth is as necessary to life
As death itself

But not in this moment...
for this moment is real

Do I not answer my childs phone call
cause she'll eventually be turning to dust?

do I not turn the cars wheel
to avoid oncoming traffic?

Our future is built
on our current involvement...
as we engage,
what we create will reflect
the very patterns that we
initiate in this present

and herein lies the secret to happiness
shape the present with sincerity
and all that flows forward
will reflect our pure intent

others may balk
but that's theirs to contend with

we assume that our future is a mirror
of our past.... why?

Reality comes not from a single moment
But from the Spirit that animates

This is why we answers phone calls
From loved ones

Why we avoid oncoming traffic:
A recognition of the spirit within all
And that sometimes,
it is not our place to meddle

Sometimes it is best
to simply sit back and let it all be
Not fearing a loss,
But rather recognizing

That loss can never be realized
for in this eternal moment
all will fade
to nothing...

This is not to say
'don't care'
Do not lead a callous life
but recognize the passing nature

That binds us to life
For it is in the understanding
of this nature
that beauty is found
that meaning is found
in which that which we hold dear

is never lost,
ever found
and always
a part
of I

Indeed

and yet the single moment
is forever being
recognized

for we inhabit this moment
we're at one with this moment
we never know anything else
but this moment

~time~ is a reflection
of imaginative thought
"eternity" is something
that we assume....

enlightenment
is waking up
to this moment

we are anchored to
forever being
present

so why project?

Perhaps...

but we won't know this nothing
until/unless/perhaps
its become seamlessly
at one
with our
being of now.... :^)

Because we seem to have found ourselves
Lost in between

Until we can realize
the true passing nature
we will find ourselves caught
between the extremes
of Right, Wrong, fair unfair
up down left right

So we would exist
in the soul's Night

Instead I say
Let us beckon forth to the day

Not celebrate who can use
the most fancy words
and accept that each knows
their own truth

Just because the words are different
Doesn't mean that we disagree

Understood.... :^)

herein lies my problem
with the whole
"turn to dust" thing

it's most often used to
simply dismiss the base intimacy
of our current experience

the subtext being
"fret not, it all turns to dust"

a most popular assertion
that has long haunted the
"spiritual community"*

(* spiritual community as defined by those sharing
their impressions on what spiritually 'may' be... I'm currently 56 years
old and have been watching this process closely since the age of 16)

so if it all turns to dust then why bother?
we then give 'tacit' acceptence to what's
currently on our plates
but in the back of our minds
we dismiss it as not real...

accepting such is a clear form of displacement

...and yet the "moment" is pregnant
with "all that is"

it's these filters that we adopt
that then get in the way

some things are worth letting go of....
and picturing a vague endpoint of nothingness
at the end
is one of those

I understand the spirit in which you approach
the understandings you express

and easily agree with your core warm intent

it's this thing about being distracted
by being anywhere else but here

there's little that's truly effective
that will come of that....
