Question Meditative techniques for Depersonalization

Hello all, I was looking to see if anyone could recommend some meditative techniques to help me feel more "connected" with my body and my surroundings.
I have been suffering from Depersonalization recently as a result of long term stress, anxiety, and depression.
It is an odd symptom, one that I've never experienced before these past few months. Depersonalization for those who don't know, is a sensation of feeling out of your body, in a dream like state almost.
It is very difficult for me to deal with at times and from what i've experienced I know that meditation does help.
But if anyone could recommend any type of technique, that'll make me feel connected again, that would make me incredibly happy!

Goenka Vipassana is a body centred technique and you'd have to apply for his 10 day silent retreat. There are centres all over the world and payment is on donation basis. Otherwise, read up a bit on mindfulness meditation related to stress, anxiety, and depression.

Thank you very much, one of my realatives actually invited me to do this over this upcoming summer. :)
I'm definitely going to give it a shot!

chi gung exercises might help you too Nustal, these incorporate breathing techniques with moving the body in simple repeated sequences. there are plenty on the internet, pick one and have a go, or go to a tai chi instructor, they will know some.Also...obviously...Tai chi might help too, but that is a longer journey and finding a teacher who meshes nicely with you is very important.

Coincidence... I've just got my head around a 3 week Depersonalisation due to stress & anxiety! I've been spaced out, disconnected and not in a great state of mind for the last 3 weeks. I literally yesterday figured out (again) what it was...

You're probably not going to enjoy my answer, but it might help you.

For me it is due to fighting off Candida. When you fight it, it flairs up and can cause a lot of issues.

Once I realised what the problem was (it's happened a few times, I am currently learning how to get rid of the problem) then the Depersonalisation vanished.

I've been eating very healthy and enjoy life, then last month I had a whole load of Anti-biotics for a tooth infection.
This caused my gut flora to become low and let the Candida and worms (unfortunately they are in all of us and it is a problem that is much overlooked by many!) thrive and take control.

Cut out Caffeine - tea, coffee, soft drinks.

Drink lots of water, eat bananas & kiwi's.

If you want to test if its Candida or/and worms eat some sugary stuffs (the candida and worms love bread, sweets, beer, anything that's going to turn into sugar in the body).

Hope that helps. It's not meditation, but it's still a step in the right direction.

Know that there is a way out of it and you are not alone.

Look into Turpentine & Sugar. I am going to be doing it in a month to get rid of the culprit for good.

Peace Won Love

I will definitely look into this as well! Thank you very much. :) I just wish to feel normal once again.

Interesting! I would've never even considered anything like this, I will be looking into it right now!
I wish the best of luck to you!
