That's an interesting point neville. I think in terms of what emanates from it, probably not, but in terms of interaction with similar "stones" it probably does.

Did you ever see that episode of star trek with that single celled organism that was the size of star cluster and consumed whole planets for nourishment? Something like that would have had to come from another universe much larger than ours. The smaller we are, the more likely something from another universe could just come and squash us. I wonder if something like that is possible though.

Yes definitely possible! Especially since I believe that God is the "here" and "there" so it's like, "Hmmmmm how long will it take for me to get from Me to Me? Ooops I'm already there~!!!♥♥♥"

I've heard of an interesting theory. The world spins in one direction yeah, so if you can run across the globe faster than it spins, and go to the same spot you are standing on now, theoretically you would actually go back in time and see yourself right there. Sweet! ♥

Moving from one point to another along a linear time line, is the mechanism necessary, for experiencing human life. However, the truth is, that we are the aggregate of all points, on an infinitely expanding number of time lines.

In other words, there cannot be speed, because nothing is actually moving.

Doesn't make sense? IF you could run around the globe in 1 second to the exact same spot, you would be in the exact same spot 1 second later. No time travel but definitely faster than the Earth rotation. There would be some relativistic time dilation but at ~14% of light speed it wouldn't be much.

If you could travel around the globe faster than 1/7 of a second then it could get weird because you would have to be going faster than light. You would have to be made of some type of tachyon-y matter.
If you were much faster, around maybe 1/28 second you would see the light image of yourself leaving as you came back around. Also in a different time frame, I think?

The Omnipresence of God

You pose a great question about the omnipresence of God and the best and most scientific answer to this question comes from the Mandukya Upanishad, which is a text that predates the Bible.

According to the Mandukya Upanishad, God is an infinite ocean of consciousness. This ocean of consciousness lies beyond the realms of time and space. Since space and time arose with the big bang, consciousness which came before is not constrained by either the laws of space or time.

Since consciousness is not constrained by space, therefore space cannot confine it to a specific location, or impose boundaries on it. Hence consciousness is omnipresent. It is present everywhere. This means God is present at all points in our Universe simultaneously.

So if an event happens on earth or in a galaxy millions of light years away from us - God who is pure consciousness knows about both instantaneously. He does not need to travel from one place to the other to get the information.

Many Yogis of India are known to know of events that happen far away. For example once there was a tsunami in Japan (in the 30s or 40s, I am not sure of the exact date) and a well known Yogi from India (Ramana Maharishi) was having a conversation with his disciples when suddenly he exclaimed: "Oh! so many souls have just departed from earth." How did he come to know of an event that happened in Japan sitting in India?

He could know from harnessing the information in his super-conscious state. In this state, you tap into the same infinite ocean as God. Your consciousness is no longer localized and you can know of far off events instantaneously.

And this would to your point, make God get information faster than the speed of light, in fact his speed is infinite.

I hope this sheds some more light on this very interesting question you pose. On my website I have written 2 articles that explain this further, I invite you to visit:

The Mandukya Upanishad is in Sanskrit but there is a brilliant book that explains its verses by Swami Chinmayananda. Here is its link on Amazon:

If God or All That Is is faster than light, where would He move to?

If it is true that God knows when a leaf falls because he is that leaf, would He need to move faster than light? Also, according to quantum mechanics there is nonlocality.

From Mellen Thomas Benedict's NDE:

Quote:
So creation is God exploring God's Self through every way imaginable, in an ongoing, infinite exploration through every one of us. Through every piece of hair on your head, through every leaf on every tree, through every atom, God is exploring God's Self, the great "I am". I began to see that everything that is, is the Self, literally, your Self, my Self. Everything is the great Self. That is why God knows even when a leaf falls. That is possible because wherever you are is the center of the universe. Wherever any atom is, that is the center of the universe. There is God in that, and God in the void.

This is what Seth (Jane Roberts) says:

"If you prefer, you can call the supreme psychic gestalt God, but you should not attempt to objectify him.

What you call God is the sum of all consciousness, and yet the whole is more than the sum of Its parts.

He is not one individual, but an energy gestalt. He is a psychic pyramid of interrelated, ever expanding consciousness, that creates simultaneous and instantaneously, universes and individuals that are given duration, psychic comprehension, intelligence and eternal validity.

Its energy is so unbelievable that is does indeed form all universes; and because its energy is within and behind all universes, fields and systems, it is indeed aware of each sparrow that falls, for it is each sparrow that falls."

Loving this thread and all it's links and quotes!!!
That Mellon Thomas is a very famous NDE.

My thing, if it hasn't already been mentioned is...
This talk about God being faster than Light is funny to me...
When that is what He IS.... Light!
