fake balsamic vinegar?

Balsamic vinegar inhibits oxidation of LDL cholesterol according to some information I read about it. I wonder if the so called fake stuff will work the same way.

Could you educate the group? Is that a good or bad thing, for example?
It's not exactly everyday knowledge. Thanks.

Balsamic vinegar came under fire several years ago for containing heavy metals because it's aged in barrels for so long. The heavy metals are found naturally in the soil that the grapes are grown in and when the vinegar is aged and concentrated, the minerals are also. California has very strict guidelines about warning consumers about lead and arsenic to the point that it the warning is practically on everything. Here's an article that explains balsamic vinegar's heavy metal problem and why for some products, its really a non-issue. But it's probably the reason for all the balsamic vinegar out there that isn't aged as long. Another reason is that 12-year-old balsamic vinegar is very pricey.

Fortunately, there are supplements containing fluvic acid that remove heavy metals from the body, As will spirulina or cilantro. So if you LOVE cilantro and eat it regularly, enjoy your 12 year old balsamic vinegar!

Inhibitory effects of balsamic vinegar on LDL oxidation and lipid accumulation in THP-1 macrophages
Oxidized low-density lipoprotein (LDL) is believed to contribute to atherosclerosis in part by being taken up into macrophages via scavenger receptors, thus accounting for foam cells. Balsamic vinegar is made from grapes and generally consumed in the Mediterranean region. In this study, we investigated the preventive effects of balsamic vinegar on LDL oxidation and foam cell formation.

It should be diluted. I've been taking 1-2 tspns of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water now and then.

Miss Hepburn,
LDL is 1 of the bad forms of cholesterol.
HDL is healthy. You could remember that by HDL = Healthy.
Triglycerides aren't good either.
So basically the only part of cholesterol that can be high without risk is HDL, all the rest you want to be low.

Wow, great info, Traveller!! Thank you for that.

To add to your info, what I found:

How can I get fulvic acid naturally?
Foods highest in Fulvic acid will be those found growing in healthy soils such as Radishes, Beetroots, Parsnips, Carrots, Turnips, as well as foods grown in large bodies of natural water such as Seaweed and Kelp.

----------------------------

Is fulvic acid good or bad?
Moderate doses of fulvic acid and shilajit appear safe, though research is ongoing. A study in 30 men concluded that a daily dose of 0.5 ounces (15 mL) can be used safely without the risk of side effects. Higher doses may induce mild side effects, such as diarrhea, headaches, and sore throat

I'm going to put this in a Word file for later reference
Thank you, I had never heard of fulvic acid.
Love learning new things.
