I absolutely love the myth of Hermes birth. The dialogue between Him and Apollo is hilarious.

The story of Arnold Paole, the supposed real life vampire in Serbia in the 18th century is a fave. I first came upon the story years ago in high school; it was featured in a comic book. I think it was Boris Karloff's Tales Of Mystery And Imagination series that was in circulation at the time. But here is was presented in a late 19th century setting rather than the original 18th century.
