Angel1 Native American Spirits

When my mother was near death in the hospital, she told me of a "vision" she had of a tall indian man wrapped in a brown blanket. He stood at the foot of her bed and just stared at her. She also said that he walked over to her roommate and looked at her too... Who could this be and what is the signifigance of her visit?

It could be a spirit guide. Does she interact with spirits at all?

no, she passed on shortly after that.. She had some Cherokee blood back thru the generations, but She never believed in spirit guides or things of that nature. The vision concerned her enough that she told it to me. She wasn't "confused", as some people would think, this woman was sharp as a tack right up to the end...she also saw a good family friend that had passed on years before and spoke to him as if it was the most natural thing in the world, as she ate lunch one day...sorry to ramble on, but I have questions that pop up from time to time...thank you for your response!

I don't know but when a relative's baby died I dreamed the baby was a Native American Indian child. She took her mother's hand and smiled. It was full of the most intense, beautiful love I have ever felt. Native Americans have a deep connection with Mother Earth and spirituality so it may be the visitor your mother saw was there to comfort her as she passed.

Hi Snooky

As you said your grandmother was of NDN heritage it could be a member of her family coming to collect her.

Namaste

Several members of my family have reported seeing passed over relatives in the days before they passed over themselves.

I think our relatives and sometimes ancestors do indeed come to comfort, reassure us and walk us through our passing over.

It sounds to me as though this is what was happening.

Even those of us who aren't "Native American" or indigenous ---can have NA or indigenous guides. Mine is so I've had to learn. Your mother's guide was there for the transition. Her friend she could also see and hear clearly. The days of ignoring the "visions" of old people as hallucinations--should be over by now. It's real--they are seeing what they're talking about.

So, at least you know she was cared for, whether she believed in this life or not. That's the way it is, I think.
