Plastic Figurines and Abandoned Trains

She found me collecting trash
She said I reminded her of her brother
When he worked for the rail
He wore vallet attire just like yours
His eyes were deep and skin so pail.

I followed her home where she dug out an old box
Filled with stones and letters to God
These are shining and black
one for each one that I've lost
I've polished them now for so long
Though my reflection is clear
I feel my mind is gone
When I looked at her I didn't see that
I saw a strong women
Fearless in fact.

The attic door I can't reach the string
I remember red horses. and desert birds that sing.
All locked away with my plastic figurines
I don't member them all
But they visit in dreams
She spoke with baby teeth and a paper heart
About how she stole the ornaments from her neighbors yard
Because she would cry if she saw them out in the rain.
Like that one atop my father's car
That poor silver bird I watched it fade

Then she took me outside
Beyond the gate, the eyes with no lock
Past the Jeweled snake
Curled up like a clock
I was hit by the rays
Oh the shearing never stopped!
There was colored glass and a whistling sound
And pipes that bent and curled up from the ground
I followed her eyes on the brick path to the quietest spot.
Where she sang me a lullaby as I lay in her lap

In that moment I thought I could be visiting in a dream
Maybe I too was a plastic figurine
That she was to guide me away from this spot
Into the light and out of the dark
To followed the tracks away from the pain
Away from the plastic figurines and abandoned trains

And may the lights shine for you on your day, today, and hip hip hooray!

Never Sane

Fought off all the lunatics
Entangled in their riots
Their faces red their tongues ablaze
Their screams where there but silent

I collapsed under the burning sun
My hands were bruised with pain
I vowed never to fully trust
Or love another again

Left alone to know myself
I fail to remember my name
Tormented by their hurtful lies
That pierced into my brain

I tried to slip into serenity
to remember im still alive
As my hands trembled near my face
The memories spilled i cried

I felt my limbs turning in
Into a fetal position i remain
Until time heals my shattered soul
Left calloused but never sane
