hi  I am wondering if there is a certain book or books that come highly recommended by the adept crystal and stone connoisseurs?

i'm a big fan of The Crystal Bible by Judy Hall except it makes me want to be every single crystal under the sun. Great pictures, and a nice flick through and hugely informative.

I have the Crystal Bible too! I also have the Book of Stones by Robert Simmons and Naisha Ahsian. Both have gorgeous photos and descriptions of the stones. They contain metaphysical information too. It's nice to be able to look things up in the index for diseases or emotional ailments as well.
I have asked for another book for Christmas as I just love looking at them and learning about stones. I don't know what I will pick out though.

Those are the holy grail of the crystal/gemstone community and have everything you will need to know for years and years.

Purifying Crystals and Gem Water are excellent ~ small handy size, but very well written. The Michael Geinger A-Z guide was recommended to me in the crystal shop because "It cuts out all of the fluff" lol.
The Crystal Prescriptions is handy quick reference guide, as there's a directory of symptoms. Crystal Experience reminds me that I should be writing more! lol

I love the Crystal Bible 1 and 2 by Judy Hall.
I do not own it but my Aunt recommended Love is in the Earth by Melody.
