Proper "disposal" of a Buddha statue
Hello everyone, I have a fairly old statue of Buddha that needs to be retired. It is missing paint, a toe and several beads from a necklace that is held in his right hand. As I am not actually Buddhist, I would like to know the proper way to dispose of it. Thanks in advance for any help you could provide.

Maybe put it on an old stump in your yard or in a garden?.

I was thinking along the same lines WhiteShaman, it would do brilliantly tucked into the corner of a flowerbed.

Thanks for the replies... I'll see if any friends or family would like it since I live in an apartment. Thanks again!

Just sharing . In my current understanding ,Buddhism is NOT a religion and never involve in any "beliefs" or "ritual" or any " culture". The statues of Mr Siddharta is to me to mark the introducer of Buddhism that should never be regardard as " a GOD" of a deity .....He was not , is not and will never be more than anything as in Buddhism all being is same & equal.

I don't think the question was ' if Buddhism is a religion or not ' ?
I can understand the original question, such a statue of any kind, one doesn't just want to toss in the trash .

It's just a statue. There is no point in worshiping idols, not even the real Buddha.

Yes so true, and the real Buddha is our true inner SELF, not some man who lived many years ago, he was not the Buddha, he only represented the Buddha.
