An Absolutely Astonishing Experience...

A couple of days ago me and 2 friends were in my car, we were thinking about where we should park up to relax for a bit, I suggested somewhere to look at the stars because it had just gone dark, we proceeded to go to a well known spot of mine in the country.

When we arrived it was semi-clear with some clouds about, we sat in the car with relaxing tunes and started talking about life. I was contemplating alien life and the possibility of us being alone in the universe and how that would make us feel if it was to be true.

The conversation sparked a memory of when me and the friend (who was sat in the back of my car) saw a fireball meteor hurtling through our atmosphere, it had a luminous green tail and it was really bright, after about 10 seconds it broke up and the bits carried on until they burnt up. It was a beautiful thing to see, if not a little frightening.. I told my friend that I had my camera at the time but I was so shocked to see it I wasn't able to take pictures fast enough.

Just as I finished my sentence my friend shouted "LIKE THAT ONE THERE." And pointed out of my car window, I looked where he pointed and there was to my absolute disbelief a huge fireball meteor hurtling through our atmosphere.. It had a luminous green tail and it was really bright just like the one I witnessed many years ago. We were all in serious denial, I didn't know what to do... I jumped out my car and I remember just being absolutely mind blown over it.. I felt like I was dreaming..

As we settled down I couldn't help but think about how I had been loosing faith in Buddhism as of recently and the day before I had been to the Buddhist temple to receive a teaching on faith... That night i found more faith inside myself than previously. I couldn't help but think if this experience was meant to happen to push me back on the path to enlightenment...

The probability of such a thing happening is absolutely astronomical. So much so that I can't accept it to be pure co-incidence... It was too perfect to be a random possibility that we stumbled upon.

I can't work out if it was a sign or a form of ESP..

Well, of course it is a coincidence! :)

Those meteorites took a very long time to travel to just that point in time. They were on their way long before you were born.

It blazed across the whole sky. Lots of people from miles and miles around had the opportunity to see it.

The incidents came together because you at that moment chose to look up. Not knowing what was in store, you looked up. when you looked up, then you saw.

p.s. - there is nothing *only* about being a coincidence. ;)

Years ago I was on a patterned binge of sky signs. sun columns at dusk, sundogs at sunrise, meteorites...... then one day I drove by after-dark, and realized to my sudden dismay that I had failed my randezvous. That to follow the pattern of sky signs I should have been looking to see the sunset that night, and I had missed it. I had stood up the Universe. As I was thinking this, right out the driver side window of my car, in the distance, a single firecracker shot up and erupted in the night sky :)
