No man can claim to understand ultimate reality from the limited perspective while still with the body. With those who make such an audacious claim, run as far away from them as you can. At the physical level of human experience, the best that I can do is share what appears true for me with others, and accept the truths of others as FOOD FOR THOUGHT, but never discount the truth of another as untrue or nonsense. How else are you going to learn more about the BIGGER PICTURE, if you know it all already. Open minded discussion brings us all closer to the truth. Philosophical verbal hair splitting achieves nothing!! Happy festive season to all.

For me the strange concept of 'no time' in the afterlife happily explains the problem of eternity which is impossible in our reality.

One could say there is no time in our material life as well. Past and future are illusions, and all we have is the present, now, which is constantly evolving.

Since we are on the topic of time, one thing I find fascinating are the implications of relativity, in slowing down processes which we perceive as time, and the manifestation of matter that quantum mechanics says happens upon any kind of observation.
This parallels what we do with software, games specifically, in order to push things to their limits and run on a machine with processing limitations. We break the environment into pieces and simply do not render nor compute that which cannot affect the players experience, similar to QM.
When players engage in actions that demand a very high degree of computation, if we choose to maintain a steady frame rate and smooth experience, we slow the rate at which things get processed as a tradeoff- similar to relativity.
To me, the question then is... why would a supposed all powerful consciousness care about creating a processing efficient experience with our universe? Does the limit of light speed + the above mentioned points not imply a processing limit, as opposed to an infinite consciousness/God,
whatever one chooses to call it?
