I believe that the people we meet in life, is helping us by being the projection of either what we want for ourselves or what we do not want.

We just sometimes forget, that the part we do not want, is already part of us, just the part we do not want to recognize being there.

To me, it means that you no longer need this person projecting this part of you, because you have now seen it.

It is now up to you if you will use this knowledge to work within, to accept it being part of you and to learn to love this part of you as well. It does not mean you will ever have to act or use this side of you, if you do not wish to.

You can also choose to not accept this side of you and will most likely find that later in life you will "meet the situation again" dressed as a different situation or relationship.

Thank you for your thoughts. I was actually in a very similar if not the same situation about two years ago but with a different person. Since I failed and even refused to learn the lesson because I just couldn’t accept some things, some facts, I left that relationship. Just to be in the same situation with another person again. This person btw is someone I would want to be and in return, she wants to be like me so it’s a mutual thing, thus, the tension since we’re both trying to repress our feelings and emotions due to the fact we live in a house with others and it’ll be just too awkward for either of us. She’s moving out soon so we’ll see how solid our connection really is. It will be a test for the two of us in a way since we’ve lived together for almost a year and now we won’t be seeing each other that often anymore. You are right, if I leave this friendship or if she does, chances are we will both experience the same thing with someone else in the future.
