Born again spiritualist......

I've only recently discovered a sense of spirituality after spending most of my life with agnostic beliefs but recently through a chain of realizations through reading, life experiences, and observations I felt a sudden change........ and its the greatest feeling ever.

I dont really have anyone in my life who feels the same and I guess this is my opportunity to reach out to others who feel similarly.

Is it common for people to make such a dramatic change without external influence?

I don't really know how to classify how I feel after my "awakening" to spirituality it's not like I decided I like the ideal of a religion or movement but more something that has come over me, I feel a greater connection with the world around me. I'm not sure if I need it labelled but wonder how the rest of the world views people who feel like I do.

It's a great feeling, isn't it? I seem to be going through a series of transformations this year. First, in January I developed what I can only call an intense passion for classical music. I listen to it every day. It's almost a compulsion. Something about the music just seems to soothe my soul. My wife and I have been going through a lot of stress the past couple of years so I wonder if it's a gift I was given to help me cope.

Second, in June I became a vegetarian, then qukcly decided to go full on vegan.

Now my spiritual self is awakening again. A few months ago when I stared at a white wall I would see writing imprinted on it. The writing was usually in red (but not blood red) and was hand writing, though I could never make out what it said. I have a feeling it's all connected somehow.

Fasting is very good also for the pirit. However, it is not a good lifestyle, long term, for the body.

http://www.theblondevegan.com/

I learned about this person a little while back, on the morning T.V. show, "The Doctors".
This vegan had a blog going on, involving her wholly Vegan lifetyle.
Alot of readers and fans.
But when began to experience health problems involving shortage of essential fatty acids and Omegas etc. She realized that she would need to take in whole protien and became the "Pescatarian", eating fish.

After doing such her health issues went away, but, with this change which she posted on her blog, came also alot of hate mail.

Nevertheless, she changed her blog name from the "Blonde Vegan", to, "The Balanced Blonde". Which she maintains.

Fasting? The topic wasn't mentioned was it? Sounds like another 'vegan bashing' effort to me.

This is 'The Sanctuary' section, Morpheus. No arguing/flaming allowed.

To answer the allegations. There are plenty of plant foods, and combination of plant foods, that provide complete protein.
And plenty of plant sources of essential fatty acids.

If this person became deficient it was due to her own ignorance. Whatever diet you follow the onus is on the individual to ensure adequate nutrition is acquired.

Strange that this lady feels the need to publicize her diet to the world. Nothing to do with advertising her new clothing range presumably?
