Bands with spiritual lyrics
Hello,
I am mainly a fan of progressive rock(Yes, Genesis(early),ELP, King Crimson, Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd etc)but like all kinds of music. Some of the prog bands I like most have spiritual lyrics such as Yes, The Flower Kings, Eloy, Kansas and the Moody Blues(if you can count them). However, I don't want to limit myself to one particular genre of music so I am wondering what other bands are out there that people on here like that have spiritual lyrics. Thanks.

MUSE (Alternative (British) Rock) have some spiritual lyrics, I would say.
Plug In Baby - NOT FULLY EXPLAINED - About being tired of this life and it's frustrations
Citizen Erased - The ending of which one much face it's completion.
Megalomania - Not being 'ready' for heaven
Thoughts Of A Dying Atheist - Scared of death
The Small Print - Feeling treated unfairly by god
Fury - Hoping that there is no god in the end, to judge us for our sins
Apocalypse Please - About the end of the world
Glorious - Kind of feeling the same glory, as the believers
Invincible - Together we are invincible
Blackout - This life could be our last
Guiding Light - When we lose track or our guiding light leaves us
Neutron Star Collision / Love Is Forever - Unconditional Love
NOTE: Most of the songs may have a darker direction than some other.

Wow, I don't know of any of those bands except for Muse(who I quite like based on what I have heard so far). Thanks for the list. I might check some of them out.

You might like Nightwish. As a Spiritualist who also has a love for fantasy and the mystical the band is very lovely and soothing for me. I think a nice first for you from them would be Bless The Child
They're a symphonic metal band but I find their music very empowering and still spiritual in a sense.
(Hey this was posted on my birthday >u< )

Esoteric - doom metal
Spiritual - etnic metal
Omnia - pagan folk
Three my favorites, but I know a lot more.
But that is MY spirituality. Maybe tell us what is your way in spirituality.

You might want to check out these two artists:
Nahko Bear and Medicine For The People
and
Mike Love
They're both reggae/pop influenced with Nahko being more of a folk type of vibe. Both are very conscious and enlightened individuals/artists. You can tell by listening to their music that it comes straight from the source. As do their lyrics. There is no way that you can't be instantly be transported to a place of higher love and vibrations when listening to them. Here's a couple songs from both of them:
(Sadly, this is my first post, so I can't post a link that will take you directly to the songs mentioned, but they can easily be found on Youtube and/or iTunes)
"Aloha Ke Akua" - Nahko
"Black As Night" - Nahko
"My Country" - Nahko
"7 Feathers" - Nahko (Listen to the Project Earth - Ohm Dome version)
"Permanent Holiday" - Mike Love (Try looking for the live version filmed at Higher Ground Cafe)
"Human Race" - Mike Love (Definitely listen to the album version for this one)
"Distant Travelers" - Mike Love (Listen to the live version posted by Hawaii Music Supply)
And always... if you like the artists... please help support them! If you like these songs, then you will for sure love their album!
Enjoy!
