🥳JESUS' PRE-HUMAN EXISTENCE🥳

Most of us are familiar with Jesus' pre-human existence as being the first born of creation.

Let's talk about other aspects of Jesus' pre-human existence.

As we talk about Jesus' pre-human existence, we will probably talk about incarnation vs re-incarnation, especially as it applies to Jesus.

Hebrew 7:3 "Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually."

Genesis 14:18 "And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God."

There have been a theory that Melchizedek was/is Christ in a pre-human existence,, we see that he has no earthly parents and not even beginning nor end of days. One such being who has neither beginning nor end is not a created being but a being that always existed, there is no in between from my understanding. It talks about a person not about the order, at least this is what I see. The fact that also brought bread and wine to Abraham makes us remember of Jesus doing the same thing, sharing bread and wine.

Then we have the part where it says "made like unto the Son of God"; the word "made" if taken literally contradicts the very idea of having no beginning nor end of days, it basically means that it was created, of course if taken literraly. My guess is that that final part from Genesis 14:18 talks about the likeness of Melchizedek, it appeared to be like the Son of God, maybe because it was but this was a pre-human existence and not the actual incarnation of Christ.

Some say it is Shem, one of Noah's sons but still those scripture are a very strange use for a mere human being, if that was Shem why not use his actual name and even more, why is not Shem a high biblical figure if he was so godly.

What's your take on this?

The name Melchizedek, in of itself, posses some interesting questions. The Hebrew expression צֶ֙דֶק֙ gets translated as "of Melchizedek" and "and Melchizedek" and it sounds something like how it was pronounced in Hebrew which is ṣe·ḏeq. How this word became Melchizedek appears to be very interesting in of itself.

What makes the scripture you cited in Genesis 14:18 interesting is the expression "priest of the most high God". When looking at the expression "of the most high God", a person might expect the Hebrew word for God would have sounded something like Elohim in Hebrew, as used many times in the first creation account in the Bible, but it isn't. This word for God, in this case, sounds something like lə·’êl in Hebrew.

There are many words used for God(s) in the Old Testament, it's not clear what is the reason for this, at least from my perspective.

How do you explain this?

The transliterated word for "God" used in the first creation account sounds something like Elohim in Hebrew. Some scholars have speculated that the Elohists believed their God was Elohim whereas the Yahwist believed there God's name is Yahweh which is reflected in the Tetragrammaton. Both expressions have for the most part, been eradicated from the various Bible translations. Some people make fun of the 2 conflicting creation accounts but they themselves have not noticed those accounts are from 2 diverse people or groups, rendering them, for the most part, as opinions or theories.

.......... and then it appears the Northern Kingdom of Israel believed in Elohim and the progressive thinking that went along with that 'God'. It appears that some, if not all of the battles fought in the 2 books of Kings were over this issue.

I think they did that on purpose, maybe they all thought that it was about the same God, maybe they wanted to put all these writtings under one God to avoid some kind of split up, creating more problems. If you change "God" with all those words then you're going to have a serious problem, now people battle on the fact that they have the right understanding of the scripture, imagine battling about having the right name/title of God.

But then again, who is this guy Melchizedek? The actualy word is "WCVIKLN" and gets prononunced " mal-kee-tseh'-dek", Christ belongs to the order of Melchizedek.
