bottom line is that your trying to do start an argument. Why else would you post something like this here. Starting an argument in a hateful manner is spreading hate.

Actually I am trying to start a discussion, if it's too much for you just let it be. Hate has nothing to do with my question (in my case anyway).

I agree with what you're saying there's a lot of messed up people out here. But what can we do? Blaming entire groups doesn't help. It's unfortunate people pray on the weak. I just read an article that some pharmacy's are charging a 200.00+ co pay for a 40.00 RX. That too is wrong. There's reasons why wondered away any form of formal type of religion. I was sick of hearing about how formal institutions are taking advantage less powerful people. I understand it's frustrating. Now that we got that out of the way let's discuss.

Busby, I respectfully disagree with your statement that Christians like to kill especially people in the middle east. I find it interesting that you make this statement.

More interestingly, why are Christians so harshly judged? As a Christian, I do not like to murder-a person from the middle east oo a fly. And you are correct it is one of the 10 commandments, thou shalt not kill. no one Christian or non Christian has the right to end a life

Here is something to ponder in reference to murder-Christians and non-Christians alike murder in various ways everyday-lying, gossiping.

My question to you is why you target the Christians with this question? I am a Christian-and yes Busby as much as I try to live as Christ commands-I fail-I sin. I have come to accept that no matter how hard I try, I will sin.

God sent His son into the world so that all can be reconciled to God. It is through His Sons atonement that God made it possible for all to be reconciled to God and have everlasting life.

I'm not trying to derail your thread nor am I trying to pick a fight, but I'm curious how you figure you're correct.

A lot of hate and misunderstanding come from where we choose to get our information. Unfortunately, once we start to form an opinion on a subject, we selectively discount the sources that don't confirm our opinion, and keep those that fuel it. A snowball effect follows.

How to step outside this paradigm? Make a step back, cool down, ask you self "what if I'm wrong?", keep an open mind, form your own opinion. Some people can't do that, most never think about it.

Vehemence is a sign of being mistaken. Why? Because when vehement your brain is in higher beta, you're in fight-or-flight mode, you're thinking less and reacting more, your intuition is shut down.

Well Busby....I found this thread just after I had killed a fly.

I always try to help anything, whether it's a gnat or a bee, or whatever species, if it's weary, or has been stuck in the window, or is drowing, I'll fish it out and dry it out and set it free.

But I killed a fly. Why? It was buzzing round my food and wouldn't give up doing that and kept landing on my tomatoes, so I swiped at it -not really to kill it just to get rid of it -and I squashed it because I swiped so fast.
Then as I was putting it in the fireplace like a piece of rubbish or something....I suddenly stopped and was sorry I had treated another life, another species that way.

There would have been an alternative. Stop eating. Cover my food. Be patient, and catch the fly in an upturned glass. Hard to do with flies but not impossible as I've done it lots of times.
Then put it outside and close the window.
But for some reason I didn't choose to do that. I will next time.
