Odd Pentagram 1200 metres across visible on google earth.

Curious to say the least. I have no idea why , or what...

I'm guessing most explanations are speculation.

I dont believe this is real. But still. Calling a sign of my religion "work of devil" is not nice. It is a wiccan/pagan sign too, not only satanist sign.

Hello Teiksma,

I too understand the Pentagram to be a most protective and beneficial symbol personally, However there is a possibility that a good deal of ignorance and paranoia still exists in these matters as the newspaper report hint's at .

Your post however, raises an interesting point to me with regard to the orientation of Pentagrams.

My own use of the pentagram for protections is orientated thus;

While the one depicted is orientated like this.

So I am wondering as with certain other upside down iconography, whether in fact this is possibly associated with that aspect of religion that the report suggests.

Thank you for your response.

the first pentagram you posted is the "original". If I am not mistaken, the second one was created by the church of satan, hence why you see the "goat" baphemet. Funny thing... baphemet has no assiciation with goats in legitamate history .....

The five-pointed star is an ancient sacred symbol, used in various faiths and religions around the world.

The inverted (upside down) pentagram is a symbol of Darkness.
Just as the Nazis used an inverted swastika. [Many of the Nazi elite, Hitler included, practised black magic.]
It's connotations are clear.

It's extremely hard to tell which way this Pentagram is oriented. If it is "real" and not photoshopped, then it all depends from which angle it is observed as to whether it's meant to denote a "right-way-up" Pentagram, or an inverted one.

A Pentagram in itself -is not a symbol of Satanic energies. But an inverted one has been used as such.

But it's certainly interesting.

Looking straight forward.

If there is just one point at the top and two pointing downwards in the Pentacle , It is, as far as I understand the correct good and protective way up. like this;

If however there is just one point at the bottom and two towards the top, like this;

the symbol is more often associated with Satanism.

I hope that lent some clarity. I accept that orientation will not be important to everyone and as ever , the intent is the thing, so don't worry if you have been using an upside down pentagram it matters not if the intent is pure "an it harms none."
