IDK Bluegreen, babies seem to have no conception of themselves as anything separate from what they are experiencing. They don't know any boundaries of their bodies, they are just experiencing. In fact, if you've watched them, you become convinced that they're just seeing everythign as this flow of energies and energy shapes. They will focus on places behind your head, upon the ceiling.
All of that comes with the development of ego. Perhaps the inner soul "knows" it is an I, but I wonder at those very early stages how connected even the most connected soul is at that time.
Found this on a site: "The purest definition for ego is the individuated consciousness of Infinite Being. It is who you are as a unique and distinct personality apart from universal consciousness. It is your expressed self that is localized within time and space. It is your existence as a free will entity that can think and act with or apart from higher intelligence."
I agree. The purpose of these 3D lives is, partially, to experience as an individuated consciousness, to begin to define what our choices, preferences, predilections are--and to enjoy the definition of those things.
To me other dimensions are a blending of Universal consciousness and individuated consciousness--both being easily accessible. But the purpose of these incarnations is to find out "who" we are when given choices, when having to make choices in the circumstances we have given ourselves.
Then we say, "Yeah, that's who I was when I had to make a choice." That is not worthless information. It is the joy of being individuated, unique. We should celebrate that while we're here too.
Yes, finding our larger selves is the big hidden task. But the other one is really why we're here, IMO.
