Wish I could help you more.

Hi :)
Valerie Ann Worwood has a nice book called 'The Fragrant Heavens - The Spiritual Dimension of Fragrance and Aromatherapy' ~ in it, she recommends using a blend of oils for meditation. As you mention a resin, she suggests using a resin with a citrus oil.
You should be careful how you use oils, and seek qualified advice if in any doubt. Some books list the cautions for each oil. A good book will give more advice on how to use/how many drops. Do you have any carrier oils?

Always mix essential oils with a bit of carrier oil before using (the exception is lavender which can be used straight for some things).
Lavender oil can be good for calming and destressing
Frankincense is meant to be soothing on the mind and meant to help anxiousness.
Ylang Ylang can be used for anger as its balancing
Clary sage is balancing on emotions. It can calm panic and can help anger.
Neroli can be uplifting so can help depression, anxiety, stress
...........
Lemon and Rosemary are stimulating and can help with mental clarity.
