Overheating

Hello all,

Is it very common to overheat during a mediumship reading? I do mediumship on my own, but it's never very strong I don't think. I'm told that I have a very deep ability to do mediumship.

Tonight I decided to get in touch with someone that I have done mediumship readings with before. We touched on several subjects, and during this time I started overheating and my mouth went dry. I don't think I was sweating.

Is this very common? I don't usually get it when I connect myself, but I certainly felt the connection here. Perhaps it's myself, I must be numb to the ability despite the fact I can connect well?

Were you in touch with spirit directly when you overheated? It has happened to me. I read somewhere that when the spirit is highly evolved it generates more heat. I have had a couple of experiences with angels and there is always a lot of heat.

Well, I felt like I was basking in fire. It wasnt a painful experience. Just sweltering. I guess that's where the fire metaphor for spirituality comes from.

I must have been in touch with this (these) spirits directly as well as the reader. Granted, they are spirits I've been trying to reach out for a while. I suppose it was a sign they were certainly there and I wasn't just talking to myself. Lol. The reader herself didnt communicate directly, but through tarot cards. So maybe she was channelling their energy through me.

You learn something new every day!

My first thought was that something in the reading.... the one being contacted.... the subject matter..... or even the other person present had some how triggered a hot flash. (Like the kind older women get from menopause..... men sometimes get them too)

It could be that you were experiencing some of the physical symptoms of the person you were contacting in spirit at the time of death.

I've never read that but it validates my own experiences. When a spirit is around me I always get the chills. But there has been a few times when I would feel a gentle warmth..... I thought it might have been because it was an Angel that was close and not a spirit. But I was never sure. This is great!

Thanks

I don't know who the spirits were, because I did not know who would have the information. Therefore, I asked any of the spirits that knew to come forward. I'm talking about ancestors here. I got a very strong reception from them whatever it was that I experienced.

I suppose the firey or heated feeling could be a number of things. Interestingly, I thought maybe the spirit in question was associated with the element of fire (i.e. four elements - air, fire, earth, water). But almost all of my experiences have either been airy or firey.

A spirit directly associated with fire is a possibility and one that I hadn't even thought of. I think this is something that you need to start keeping track of. Maybe in a special journal. You should figure out if this is something coming from spirit or something being triggered within you as a result of something else..... past life experience or something like that..... that was triggered by the questions being asked or the information you were receiving.

Have you ever felt symptoms like a tightness in the chest or difficulty breathing or pain in a particular part of the body? These are common physical symptoms a medium might feel coming from a spirit. This is why any time you start to feel physical symptoms when communicating with spirits you should find out the cause of their death. This way you can determine if your symptoms are from the spirit or from something else. And when asking how they died you should explain the symptoms you are having. If their own death is not the cause there could be another spirit around whose death would explain your symptoms.

Your symptoms could indicate a desert environment a spirit lived and died in. Heat stroke or dehydration maybe. If the ancestor is Indian then maybe a vision quest that went badly. Or an illness maybe. I'm trying to think of things heat related but not fire related that could be associated with the spirit ancestor you connected with. I would figure if fire was related to the ancestors death your skin would have felt like it was burning.

But if you were in contact with a fire elemental that opens up to a whole new experience. I guess only time, careful tracking, and experimentation will explain things.

Good Luck

You know when people feel the presence of a Spirit, and they feel colder suddenly? Well that is known to be a drawing of etheric energy, which can often be required for a Spirit to 'get a grip' on denser substance in order to draw closer and be able to give a message/communicate etc.

But with the warmth...maybe it shows that the Spirit is different and is able to communicate without drawing on etheric energy from the physical. In fact -may even be transfusing spiritual energy...(?) I don't know but it might be so.
I have had Spirit visits -very heart-centered -where there were certainly no chills, but not any noticeable rise in heat either. But definitely a 'warmth of Heart'.
