hair and spirituality

I was thinking about a dream I had as a Cherokee. It was strange in that I felt like I was meeting myself. I told myself I'm a Cherokee. Then i told myself because of the braids in my hair I knew there was only one.

I just saw something about hair and spirituality with the Sioux. Does anyone know if the Cherokee was the same way. Or what I heard about hair being true. It was a significant dream I had so I wonder. Thanks!

I'm pure Euro Mutt by descent . Cut my ponytail off in 1978, been shaving my head since 2000 . A while back I had a dream where I was Native American, possibly Apache, maybe Navajo (I'm in central NM) . Long hair , Native garb ....I looked at myself in the mirror and as you can imagine, I was surprised at who was looking back

Its a trip. Thanks for sharing that. I been through memories and to me its interesting. One of them was the civil war. Except I didn't know what war at first. Years later I put it together from reading some info about the civil war. I told myself it was a blood bath. Brother against brother. That's a popular way of describing the civil war. Then I experienced myself after the war. I was a thief. I robbed people by gun point. The timeline goes together it seems. Plus i replayed the emotions some what recently of that experience. One one side I was so tired from fighting. On the other I felt like there was a power in me to fight one. In that experience it felt like the civil war again. Its been an interesting process. I think we have a history book inside us. Its pretty cool.

I heard that one of the BIG psychologists said you couldn't look at yourself in a mirror in a dream. I laughed when I heard that, for sure. The times I remember doing it were all in recent years , after the dark times, and they were all .... magical. I'd have to agree with your meaning/symbolism, because that is how I see myself . Dreams have been an important part of showing my rational mind that I am , too.
