It's a toss up which I dislike the most, Country and Western or Rap/Hiphop. But lately I have been hooked on the music of Seasick Steve. I may be wrong but I think he is more popular in the UK than his home country, perhaps someone can put me straight.

Mattie,
Did you write that? If so, maybe you should go into the business!!
Yeah, some, especially older country is like that... but if you think about it, so are many other types of music.
We sing about or listen to what stirs our emotions!

Dream Angel,
I agree that country is better now than the really twangy stuff in the past.
I like those songs!

Hey Norseman,
I never heard it before, but I like that song...
A good beat/rhythm... with a good quote.
Which makes me wonder...

Anybody think of any more country song quotes you like?

Here's a couple I like:
"Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers"- garth brooks

John Michael Montgomery (One DreamAngel mentioned)...
"Life's a dance you learn as you go
sometimes you lead sometimes you follow
don't worry about what you don't know
Life's a dance you learn as you go"

I like that one too!

You could almost start another thread just for these country song quotes, would be a cool idea

The other day, driving, I heard a song about a dad who lost his wife & became a single dad of 3 girls - who they'd named Faith, Hope & Charity... cool song, but I don't know the name - anyone know?

I found another good song in searching for this one...
Alan Jackson - Where Were You
