Wearing Crystals Damage Overtime
I have this beautiful looking crystal I want to keep in pristine condition. Only problem is I want to make a necklace out of it too. Do you think it will get scratched up and damaged if I wear it around my neck 24/7. It's Tourmaline which on Mohs Hardness scale is 7. How do you keep your crystals protected. Especially how I'll be wearing it at school. Really appreciate your answers.

Do you have a crystal cage? You can get small/medium/large ones and they are ideal for turning a crystal into a pendant (as long as the crystal isn't very large or very small!). I have never damaged a crystal with this method, but I do use a cage of appropriate size to the crystal. You could also protect it by wrapping it first

Then it's as hard as rock crystal, so it won't damage easily. Indeed those cages can be very handy. I don't really see how it could get damaged anyways, unless you'd wear it on a very long chain so it would hit thing when you'd move.

and tuck it in your shirt if you have to bend over, mine tend to hit the sink when I brush my teeth or drink from the fosset. I prefer a longer chain/string and keep it under my shirt.
