Haha....Yep, that happened to me Miss H!
I once gave money to a street beggar. It was half of everything I owned in the world at that point. He was unhappy and looked at the little bit of cash and said I shouldn't insult him.
When I told him it was half of everything I had I don't think he believed me.

Another time I gave a street beggar some money, she cursed me and called me a female dog (not that I would find that upsetting!!) and said she could tell I was rich by looking at me (er....what?? ) and that I'd better watch out because I had bad karma for doing such a thing.

@Tobi

What were your thoughts while approaching that (or both) person ?

I mean: You walk the street, you notice a beggar, have some thoughts, then approach him ...

What were your exact thoughts ?
What were you feelings during these thoughts ?

If you look on these question, then you may understand why they have reacted as they did. (well this is only a guess, but i'm pretty sure it has to do the thoughts/feelings)

Anyway

What is out of your control, is out of your control. The important thing is that you have helped. (Assuming that you, actually, have helped !)

Yes, my grandmother use to say that all the time.

My take is...when we see someone suffering, or going through a hard time...someone working through hard times, and we help them...we get paid back by negativity. We have to understand, that negative people often create negative situations...even when helped. Help anyways. Just by the mere fact you had the means to help them, may cause insecurity or jealousy on a “beggars”part...they may think that you are somehow blessed, or luckier than them in some way, which a good deed can be rewarded by a negative comment, or action then. It can also be in the form of being taken advantage of, by a self serving someone, conning or using others who have a good or generous nature.

Perhaps we interfered without being asked for help.
Did we interfere in someone's free will?

It contravenes the principle of consent, and in that sense, it interferes with free will.

I interpret the meaning of it that every f#ck you give is nothing but spilled milk because no one even cares.

By that logic every parent, school teacher, police officer, judge, politician, dictator, ect, would have a huge amount of punishment in life. But it's pretty clear that's not the case.
Historically and even in today's world evil has always been in a position of power. Evil always triumphs over good. Two possible reasons for this. Good is to weak or stupid to over come evil. The universe prefers evil over good. Most likely the latter.

Love the first thought and never have heard it mentioned here. I've thought about this to. Had to smile, every parent teaches, every school teacher teaches something different then parents and so on.

Evil in a position of power? I don't think it's literal, like evil beings or that they influence us, evil to me is what is seen, seeing a decision, a measurement of cause and effect. We play out virtual thought in our mind and decide on it. The thought is not real. Decisions and thoughts are not made in terms of good or evil. Decisions are made in terms of being simply decisions. Evil is seen by others, usually an outcome, a decision and it totally amazes me people have to wait until an outcome is put in the open to see it when it should have been seen in thought. I actually don't believe in evil but that decisions in the mind is not done for that reason but is in the decision. It almost as if humans have to see things if they are to be accepted, then it's too late. You know, imo about this, if I can tell "God" no, I can tell "Devil" no, I can tell "Me" no.

All you need to do is check current events. Who is running the world these days. And study a little history. It's quite clear evil holds the majority of power and always has.

I really don't know how to respond to that.

Yes that would be wrong.

Certainly some people don't want to be helped and that should be respected.
