Destined to meet?

I'm curious to see if anyone else has had a similar experience..
I've been in a funk over a past lover for the past year and a half, so this seems crazy to me. I met someone for the first time in a temporary work setting recently, and as soon as we locked eyes, a strange sensation came over me. I got a brief image in my mind when I looked away, like an old fleeting memory, but it was so fast I could barely comprehend it and now I think I just imagined it! What ties do eyes have to soul recognition? He seemed to say everything I was planning on saying, and I can't place it, but after being around him, something has shifted in me. I've been replaying the time we spent working together in my head for the past few days, and I don't even pine over my past lover anymore. I stalked this new guy on social media, and found out he actually has traveled to/lived in some places I felt a pull to the past few years.
Have you ever met someone you feel like you were destined to meet? Are some souls meant to wake others up like this- or is this more of a destined love experience? Thoughts?
