Hello!
I've known about meditation for the last 3-5 years or so, and have actively attempted to, in particular, ground myself. I feel like grounding is something I can really benefit from, but there's an issue I've come across, and I'd like to see if anyone else may have an insight:
I have stumbled upon something called aphantasia, also known as mental blindness. A (without) phantasia (fantasy), it is a term that has been coined by a Dr. Zeman. There's some research that he's started to do as more people are starting to notice they are not able to visualize, as the majority of the population is able. Heck, I've come to understand people may not know they are /supposed/ to have this ability, that they just are without it from start to finish.
I'm not sure what it's like to count sheep, or to imagine roots growing out of my feet. Or to imagine a glowing ball of white/gold/healing light surrounding me. Or how to visualize the water from my shower head cleansing my aura/energy and washing away the negativity from my space.
When I first stumbled upon this phrase, mental blindness, there was a list of mental exercises that were listed to slowly build up the "visualization muscle". When things in my life start to settle, I plan on setting time aside to pursue and practice with this work-out plan.
In the meantime, I was wondering if anyone may have suggestions that may not utilize visualization in order to ground my energy? I have quite a few grounding stones, but I'm not quite sure how to utilize them other than by simply carrying them around with me. I was hoping to be a little more active about it.
I'd appreciate any input anyone may have. Thank you for reading, and I hope you all have a wonderful day, wherever you may be!
