Synchronistic, I believe

A while ago, in the morning October 19 around 5:00am, I dream I’m outdoors somewhere, on somebody’s property. There are other people there, and it seems most or all of us are outside of any buildings. The others are not immediately near me, but not too far away. There’s a guy lying on his side up on some sort of earthen berm near me (toward the west). Seems to be a Native-American guy, and maybe somewhat drunk, but talkative… seems to want to make friendly “small talk” with me.

As I’m looking over toward him, I see a sort of enormous star-fish shaped vision in the sky. (It may have had five or six “arms” or lobes, but was not visible totally above the horizon.) It fills most of the sky to the west, it’s outline is filled with extremely intricate arabesque, and is sort of a dull amber color. (Much too hard for me to describe.) I shout, to the guy and to everybody else, “Look!” and I’m pointing. Most people are too involved in conversations and laughter with those nearer to them, but the drunk guy eventually looks away from me and toward the west and sees the star for a moment.

Then that star-shaped vision disappears and there’s an earth shake of some kind, and the sky is filled with a quite dense dark (blackish) profusion of chunks of rock or something. I immediately think we may all be rained on by large hunks of stone and crushed. But at the same time I fret about relatives living westerly, near the sea coast. I woke up.

The attached image is somewhat similar to the star in the sky, though the internal arabesque filigree was different (more complex) and very distinct, not blurry.


That was the dream — impressive and not one I’d tend to forget. But here’s the thing that is particularly interesting to me: I learned, half a day after my dream, that there was a new media release indicated that Vesuvius had erupted on October 17th, in 79 AD. That famous eruption lasted for perhaps a full day, destroying communities in the region. About twelve hours after I had the dream I came across the media story on the intenet, and learned scientists and historians had now corrected the date, which previously was thought to have been in August, 79 AD.
