A friend on another forum has posted this, and I thought I'd post it here too.
May I ask your prayers and thoughts for a very dear friend. Some of you may remember me talking about a young man (23) from our town who found out he had a very rare form of cancer. Yesterday he had a very, very intense surgery to remove the primary tumor. It is a wait and see thing at this point.
Jon was in my #2 daughters class. There were only 12 kids in her class, so you can imagine how close we all were. I was his baseball coach from age 6 to19. After he went away to college he came back to be my assistant coach for American Legion ball 17to20 year olds. I got to be good friends with him over that time. He is beyond a doubt one of the finest young gentlemen anyone could ever meet.
His mother's post on his blog today totally broke my heart. He is a fighter, a strong man but could use the spiritual boost of a million people right now. So I ask you my friends, whatever your beliefs, send them to Jon and his folks too...I can't even describe the hell they must be going through. Both are school teachers. Thanks in advance.
