cleansing "new" to me crystals?

I bought some Crystal necklaces online and they are arriving today!! :)) very excied!! But do I need to cleanse them before I wear/use them? Sorry if this is a basic question...I tried to Google it but the answer wasn't clear. Also any words or suggestions on when I first get them are appreciated :) much love!!

If they feel funky in a bad way and you can't physically explain why, then yes you will probably want to. If not, then... don't. Either way is fine, since they're yours. :)

Some cleansing routines, however, use physical components that can have physical effects. Salt is one common item to use for cleansing, but on iron-based gemstones it will cause them to tarnish or rust. Some gemstones might even melt in water, others might permanently change color in direct sunlight. So, consider the physical reaction as well is my only tip.

I gnerally use water from yhe faucet and just run it over the stones. If you are able to make a good connection with your gemstone and are worried about the differeny ways try blowing gently on your gemstones to "blow away" what is no longer needed or what has collected within. I think if you have an honest good intention of cleansing, just about anything will work, as it is all about that connection. I have even cleansed my stone by connecting it wil my singing, and while i sang it released all the unwanted stuff that had collected. Enjoy your new gemstones!

Depending on the crystals one can cleanse the stones/crystal and even clean the silver etc in a tumbler. Using shot beads and a mixture of soapy water, you can clean the jewelry just find this way year after year.
As for the stones them selves.. Although amber is very sensitive to these types of cleanings.. Cleansings can be performed by using a mineral water based or filtered water system. I personally prefer a clear running stream, but of course not everyone is so fortunate.
But one must realize where the stones/crystal came and return them to the state time after time for several years (depending on the willingness of the stone) Often this would mean that the stones/jewelry may need a reawakening ritual to allow the stones/crystal to adjust to you and your needs. Sounds like one must go through allot just to be able to wear some jewelry. But then to, there are somethings you may need to consider or even look out for. Is that stone in fact what you asked for?.. or is it a less stone which has been heat treated to assume the desired colors etc.
