Sorry to hear that. I'd like to hear your story/hardships (if you'd be willing to share) that makes you feel that way.

I have similar thoughts backed with aspirations I hoped I achieved by now. I worry as my age is getting closer to that as well. I'm 35. :P

I also happen to live in America's rudest city. But i've encountered the nicest people there.

I'm curious of what city that is. I too felt the same but realized the duality of living in such a place, as you've said. It can the opposite for some and make them blossom. The first step is seeing the source for what it is and stop seeing people as purely selfish. Positive outlooks. Positivity attracts positivity. :)

I guess being the black sheep of an online 'spiritual community' makes me unique.

Nah, I just love it here because it's the only place where I can exact my judgment on certain topics no one ever talks about in my offline life.

I have similar sentiments or "judgements", if you will. No one to talk to about it without receiving judgement or being outcasted. I am possibly the opposite as you (yet meet in the middle?) it seems from first impressions. Excuse my perception if I take your username and avatar too boldly lol. I have to say, it certainly peaks interest in me. I apply my own views alongside realism unlike most of what you would consider a stereo-type of light. I adhere by laments terms and logic alongside my words and wisdom. If you are ever up for a debate or share backgrounds, I'd love it. Lol.

Don't mind the username, it's just the name of a song because I'm not really creative or patient when it comes to irrelevant stuff like that. Although, I must add that I'm definitely more of a evening/nights person than a morning/midday person because my eyes are sensitive to light. I draw the most energy from the blackest of nights, which sustains me for long enough until it's time to hit the coffin again.

Looking forward to our debates, anytime you wish.

New York. I saw it in a relative's newspaper over the holidays that New York was ranked as the rudest city in America. Not sure how they do the rankings on that. I'm a bit skeptical of such things. But the people around here are definitely more straight forward and blunt in comparison to other parts of America that i've been to. I, myself have been called rude without even meaning to come across that way. Sometimes i feel honesty gets mistaken for rudeness.

Brooklynite for 30+ years. Born and raised. Hence the curiosity. And yes, I agree. I'm now in Florida and I work retail. I can confirm it from my perspective that people are in fact more rude and very much to themselves here. At least the area I reside in. Then again, to be fair, many people here are infact from New York lol.

Nice to meet a neighbor that doesn't follow the same stereo-type.

Yep yep, best to be forward, blunt, and honest than passive aggressive or fake. Cons and pros to every area I suppose. I'm grateful and prideful to hail from NYC. I miss it. :)

I use to live in Florida myself too. I would happily move back. Not because i hate it here. I just find the environment more laid back, less stressful. More affordable. And i love the year round heat and warmth. I believe Miami was also ranked as one of the top rudest cities as well.
