I caught the bus today (which I never usually do) after dropping my car off for a service. I noticed that when people went to step off at their bus stop they turned to the driver and said, thank you. Some even shouted, thank you from the back of the bus where they were getting off at the middle door.
I was quite touched by this and felt proud to live in place that showed such kindness and appreciation and wondered if this happens in other countries.

Yes I always do it when getting off,it isn't as common as it used to be,perhaps some are busy with their phones.

In Canada people do this. At least in the smaller cities. I also live/lived in Germany and there I have never seen it. Actually the opposite, senior citizens almost bulldozing others down to get a seat. LOL.

Where I live, the bus drivers, for the most part, fear for their lives.

Yes I say it so do most other people living here.
Well we say it for now as our Route is being cut so there will be no more buses
Even though we have Elderly and Disabled people relying on them.

I always say thank you to them as well. But i dont hear many others do it these days.
