Nine Days of Eternity, book

Those who like books about NDEs may enjoy Nine Days of Eternity: An Extraordinary Near-Death Experience That Teaches Us About Life and Beyond by Anke Evertz. This was published earlier this month and I am currently reading it.

Anke Evertz had an accident at home which resulted in her being in a coma for nine days in hospital. This book describes her experiences and her gradual return to her body as well as her adjustment to physical life after leaving hospital. It is a while since I read Eben Alexander but to me this book is comparable.

One point of interest is that this "accident" had apparently been planned before birth so that Anke Evertz could directly experience higher realities and change the course of her life. Which suggests that all NDEs might be pre-planned and a part of the intended learning experience for those who have them.

The book also reminds me that all our worldly concerns are of no significance. They may seem very immediate and very real while we are in the body. And we do have to deal with whatever responsibilities we have taken on in life. There are always issues to be taken care of, mostly minor, sometimes major. But once we leave the body then all these issues can be left behind.

Anyway, this may appeal to some of you.

Peace

Interesting experience. As for what you said concerning ''planning'': If we are eternal and time is an illusion then ''planning'' doesn't really exist. Things just happen because they are there, 'meant to happen', not as a ''plan'' but as a flow. My thoughts.

This is true from a higher perspective. But while we may say that time is an illusion our physical existence is all based around the passing of time. We may say that planning doesn't exist yet every day we continue to make plans. So maybe there is a higher correspondence to planning.

Perhaps we can think of it as life unfolding according to Purpose.

Peace

Omgosh, I know her! Yes! So, so many will never get a book.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

Hi Miss H. I thought it might appeal to you.

Yes, I've read Natalie Sudman's book. The nature of NDEs does seem to vary even while having certain factors in common. Which makes sense since we are all at different stages of our journey.

Perhaps one other factor to consider with Anke Evertz and Eben Alexander is that their physical bodies were in a coma for several days which may have allowed for a deeper more expansive experience. Most NDEs are quite brief in terms of physical time, although I am aware that time out of the body can seem much longer.

I do sometimes wonder about the difference between the NDE and actually dying. Some NDEs are quite cosmic - the individual is guided by some kind of higher intelligence and has all sorts of experiences. Yet many accounts of the afterlife are seemingly quite mundane. The personality continues unchanged in an environment which may not be that dissimilar to Earth, although they do recognise that there are higher planes which are more expansive. Again, we are all at different stages.

But if the NDE is a pre-planned learning experience to change our direction in life then maybe it needs to be quite cosmic to overturn all our ideas about ourselves. So maybe such a cosmic experience in the NDE is a peak state, which is not necessarily what actually awaits us when we finally leave the body.

One day we will find out for ourselves.

Peace
