I can't really say I'm Hindu, nor a member of any other named faith, because claiming any faith without adherence to all words may seem a disservice. And I've read very few Hindu writings, especially compared to my Judeo-Christian background. BUT this section of the forum must keep drawing me for a reason.
As a lifelong learner, all paths have something for me to explore. I am a Hindu insofar as I wish to soak up Hindu knowledge and wisdom. And the repository of Hindu scriptures are so old and vast, more so than the Abrahamic texts I began with.
Even if I wasn't a "spiritual" person, even if wasn't drawn to the esoteric, I would still value all spiritual texts as a great historical and anthropological resource. Even a scientific resource, if you can connect the dots. Some of those books are millennia old, and who knows how far back the oral legends go?
