Dams are man made structures used to hold water back. Water is symbolic for emotions. This suggests you have devised some safeguards to keep your emotions in check, maybe to keep from being overwhelmed by them. However, if you are repressing them they could wind up building to a breaking point. So do you sense that you hold back your emotions, if so do you know why?

The new construction symbolism could be a sign of you attempting to build a new life for yourself. Do you know what was being built? Whatever it is will give further clues what you are attempting to change or improve in your life

Yes I do have to keep my emotions in check at times, I work in healthcare and you have to in order to do your job well. Along with dealing with a lot of emotional people you just have to keep on going regardless of emotions. I do have healthy outlets for it, you have to otherwise you will break and what good are you if you're broken.
As far as building, like everyone on this site I am on a spiritual journey that can get frustrating. Especially when it seems you have very little in common with people who are on the same jorney. But maybe that's part of mine, to figure it out on my own.

I was thinking a little more about emotions. Emotions are a powerful force, also I have noticed that emotions and spiritually are almost the same thing. spiritually is a way to keep your emotions in check.

I have wrestled with strong emotions that threatened to disrupt my life so I fiercely controlled them then gravitated towards spirituality to heal them but didn't see my goal was to eliminate them. I perceived that becoming more spiritual would help me become perfectly loving where I would engage in only loving emotions. My perception is that was a mistake on my part because I was still attempting to cut all negative emotions out of my life. I was trying to cure myself of negative emotions instead of using my emotions and spirituality as a tool to understand why I was having negative emotions. Once I started asking my emotions what they were trying to tell me I was finally able to work with them instead of against them. But using spirituality as a way to try and transcend our negative human side actually keeps us stuck because it's usually the thinking underneath that needs to change and the emotions will resolve naturally

So why are you pursuing spirituality? What is your goal?

I stubbled on it by accident. Haha I wanted to understand it and it just snow balled. At this point it feels like it's feeding something, I don't know what but now maybe I want to understand what it's feeding. It's probably feeding what's already inside me but where did that come from? Hahaha, I am sure you get the idea so far. Something is leading me so I am following. Maybe it's my heart and soul. I like to ask a lot of questions, one thing I am finding out is people don't like being questioned even if it's a innocent question. I can only assume they don't know or understand the answers to there beliefs. Do you believe think emotions are fuel to spiritual fire? Or are very similar?

I think emotions are valuable tools to help us understand and see ourselves better. They definitely can fuel our passions and inspire us to create so in that sense they help the soul express itself through the human form.
