How do I get rid of this longing to be a mum?

I always wanted a child of my own and definitely tried. Nothing medically was stopping from happening so it just wasn't meant to be part of my destiny. I did raise a Stepson and I can tell you being a stepparent is more challenging than one can imagine.

If she is crying herself to sleep each night, I would say it's past the point of going deeper into it. Time to do something practical and health-giving. Time to address it and transform it and heal it.

I get the impression the OP's still fighting the feeling, hence why she can't get over it. To 'go deeper' means to give up resistance, and the sense I get is that she still is in resistance. Something like counselling still might be a good option for her, it might help her to come to terms with it.

hey IntrepidExplorer i don't really know what advice to give you but ill give u a hug don't be harsh on yourself, don't give up if it's what you really want. Also do you yourself agree with what is culturally acceptable in your culture? maybe you don't have to be like every one else in your culture? seeing as you say there are other women you know who want kids but don't have them (in your culture?) maybe they are waiting for someone to take the lead.
