To be honest, the whole bible is a horror story not even Stephen King can compete with. Only a psychopath would like it all to be real. As for original sin, God already knew everything what was going to happen so there was totally no need for him to put a tree with a cursed apple over there to 'test' Adam and Eve. Also didn't help that he forgot to warn them about talking boa constrictors.

So again, this is the CHRISTIAN FORUM.
Our situation is the current one... in "the world", dependant on "space/time", "slayeroflight", due to a "fall".
That, is your horror story. You want to be held accountable? Your choice.
The issue is about a foundation established by Almighty God, way back in the Book of Exodus, namely "Salvation".

If you believe you are fallen, if you believe in sin, if you feel you need to be redeemed that's fine but don't speak for others who obviously do not feel as you do....

To be fair, there are Christian contemplatives and mystics who are considered Christian. Meister Eckharts is one who comes to mind but there have been more than that.
My own feeling is that those who read more to the spirit of the letter, rather than the rule of the law, are closer to God in spirit.
God is Love and Love will set you free.
Fear based mindsets are the enemy of God, in so much as fear is that which separates one from God. Of course, fear can also lead one to seek God, but in that seeking, one ideally releases oneself from bondage. (and technically, All is God i.e. even fear is God's freedom to create)
The meek shall inherit the Earth, the meek are meek in terms of humility, love, humbleness, ego-lessness.
Fear keeps ego solidified, it is the release and seeing of fear that enables one to walk closer to the Spirit of the Words.
This is just my opinion of course.

There is so much Evil in the world that it is difficult not to believe in "the fall" and "sin". I don't understand these people who claim they don't sin or are not fallen! Maybe to themselves they seem perfect; yet others can see with their own eyes that these people are not perfect.

Biblical Christianity doesn't really allow for acceptance , it's their way or the highway
Thankfully we have Christians who do follow the Teachings of Jesus without the dogma.... |
