Current Spiritual News - discuss!
Just had an idea...just as there is global news daily, that there must also be spiritual news! Found this site
For future/latest news, see the last posts

"Evidence Supports Health Benefits of 'Mindfulness-Based Practices'"
I find this very encouraging in its finding and ability to pave the way for more spiritally led approaches to such health problems. Although this information is new, I hope it gets taken on board (as Dr. Marchand proposes with his guidelines into health care) and that it will spread to other countries.

Obviously this thread is about worldly spiritual news, i.e. not to undermine our personal spiritual news!
There may be many here who do not think the scientific validation is important. However, when it comes to spirituality to be both acknowledged and accepted in the mainstream, then I do feel it is relevant and significant.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru.

I hear you Kumar. Obviously I favour the values of spirituality to those of science but, as explained in my previous post, being validated by science gives spirituality credence in the world at large.

whole heartedly agree Amy.
I will try and dig it out but I found a reference to tai chi being very effective in retarding the effects of parkinson`s disease, somewhere.
I have also heard of (altho I cant find any thing at the moment) a large amount of effort being made by corporate pharmaceutical companies funding `studies` to undermine all types of holisitic and natural - (non drug) based treatments.
If anyone has any evidence of this I would be interested to hear it.
great thread Amy

Thanks Pete. This doesn't surprise me in the least since it would mean loss of revenue for these companies wouldn't it? I will also look into this and see what I can find.

I say this because Kinesiology works on this basis - it's a form of muscle testing therapy. Questions are asked and responses detected from involuntary (unconscious muscle movements). Of course this therapy is probably not officially recognised by the slow coach movement of science yet!
(For those that may not know, Kinesiology has its own section under the Complimentary Therapies category). I have mentioned the above website on the "Hokey Practitioner" thread in this section.
