I never find myself in a sleep paralyses state other then when just awaking on very rare occassions (hence why for me its a risk when doing a rollout). I rather have to go by if I feel Im possibly in the right state to possibly have a successful AP, its very tricky for me to know the right time to try a roll out.
Im wondering how others know if they are in a sleep paralyses state? Do you try to move your body to test this to know?

I just meant it's easier to enter a sleep paraylsis state while in a lucid dream, you can force yourself awake quite easily. And from there it's just a matter of staying calm, waiting for the vibrations to end and rolling out. But each to their own, everyone has different ways of doing it and ways that work best for them.

The physical body will feel very heavy, something "inside" will feel light, that's the astral body. In that state you will roll out, it will feel like you're moving the physical body but it will be the astral body.
The consciousness switches from the physical body to the astral body, and that's how you command it to move it. It's like going out from a car and getting in a plane, the pilot is the consciousness :)
Every night when we go to sleep our consciousness goes from the physical to the astral body and we have dreams, so in the Dream world what you are controlling is nothing more than the Astral body and the dream dimension is the astral dimension as well, it is divided by perception (well this is a huge topic by the way). That's why the Lucid Dreaming technique is a valuable key to astral project too.
I hope that helps, good luck

Hi when we are dreaming the body (vehicle) that is doing all the actions is the astral body, so every night this takes place naturally.
It just depends on the context to call it astral projection or lucid dreams. If you are awake in the physical body and can manage to go out consciously it is called astral projection, if you get awareness within a dream it is called lucid dreaming.
Basically the projection is to change the consciousness from one body to other, so the term "going out from the physical body" it's not literal, it's more like a shift from one body to other.

Thank you guys for all the tips.
It seems whenever I try to relax and get into the state to try and project I get stuck focusing on my breathing and my body never takes over.
Has anybody else had that problem?

The general rule, is that your subconscious will is responsible for moving your spirit. It is the same as walking, when you walk, you do not think about the actual physical movement of your legs going forward, in order to propel you. You simply give your subconscious the intention that you walk, and do the motions automatically. So, to help your astral projection, think about having the intention to roll out, if that is how you really want to separate.
