It sounds like a question of focus. Holding onto focus when on the astral takes some time to perfect. It's not like here...where we can waffle a bit and still stay in the same place. I get that sort of thing happening too. I can get distracted by something, start 'waffling' mentally, or being indecisive, and the projection crashes and burns or blends into a dream-like state!

A while back, I had my first ap experience that wasn't involuntary. Before I projected, I heard my guide say, "Don't be afraid. " Then I watched as a few visions floated toward me and over my head. The first vision was the face of a cat. I didn't have a cat, but have adopted one, since then. I just thought I'd share this, because I have wondered about the meaning of the cat.

There is probably a good reason why cats were well known as witches familiars in the past, cats are extremely astral sensitive and spend a lot of time in the astral of ones home. (when my cats have passed over, they were always still around a lot).
I had my living cat only yesterday, while I was on the loo, freaking out about something on the toilet wall which I couldnt see. The cat running back and forth in and out the room, staring at a certain place on the wall and acting scared of that spot. So I ended up spinning the energies of that room out.

Interesting stuff guys! Thanks for sharing :) I think it's definitely my cat but I think he's more powerful then I realised, he's actually a little intimidating. Last night I couldn't figure out why I wasnt able to astral project, it felt like I kept getting pulled from my dreams whenever I got awareness and before I could astral project. The one time I managed to begin the process of atsral projection by getting into a sleep paralysis I was forced awakein my physical body. Then who other is sitting up standing next to me on my bed just staring at me intently? My cat. I would have to assume it was him who was messing me up but how the heck would he be doing it?

Britto...you know how everyone we know has a certain 'feel' about them? That includes our animal companions. They all have a certain energy-signature about them, and we recognise them by that -as well as by the way they look and behave.
Well....when you see/meet your cat when out of body does his energy-signature feel the same as you are used to?
Next time you go out of body, meet your cat, look him in the eye and very firmly but kindly ask him to reveal his true Self. Or you could say "Show me who you are."
