Hi everyone and Happy New Year! Just wanted to share how I chose to bring in the New Year. 2014 was a bit rough for me...lost love, broken confidence and a lack sense of self. In the beginning of December I started seeing a local psychic/healer once a week after I expressed wanted to learn tarot. What turned into learning to read cards has evolved into getting in touch with a more spiritual side of myself and it's been incredibly grounding for me.
I told him I wanted to spend my New Years soothing my soul and spirit. I mentioned wanting to just take a bath and pray with my cards. Yesterday after work, he told me he had made something special for me. Before I arrived he asked me to get white roses and any fresh herb that appealed to me. Stopping by the farmers market I picked up the roses, sage, rosemary, majoram, and tarragon. For some reason, I also picked up some Florida Water because I remember him using it on my neck to open me up for delivering a reading.
He and I both plucked the herbs from their stems and put everything into a large bowl. He took the rose petals off the stems and added some ground up egg shells, a bit of Florida Water, powdered egyptian rose and small pieces of white soap. There was a small oil concoction he made for me to use that was added as well...next thing I know, he brings a gallon of milk over. I was instructed to pour the milk first and then add hot bath water into my tub while ripping the rose petals when I got home. He gave me a small candle to light at each corner of the bath and some coal. In a bag he mixed up some incense for me and said to use two pinches on top of the coal. At midnight I was instructed to rub the oil he made all over my body and to be sure to drink lots of water.
The point was to break all the negative from the past year. I faced away from the faucet while the water washed all the bad down my back. For me it was very spiritual and brought on a strange feeling of nostalgia. I had ancient egyptian music playing to soothe my mind and vocalized all the negative things I wanted gone while breaking the rose petals. After midnight, I used the oil and went to bed shortly after.
I feel a lot more clear and less anxious today. If anyone wants to break away from something, then maybe something like this can help. Just wanted to share my experience with you all...sorry for such a long post!
