blocking negative energy
what are the best methods of blocking negative energy from a metaphysical point of view ?

For me it's to realize that the negative energy is not out there but within me. Then working on myself to clear it. It's so easy to put the blame on others that it takes time to realize it's not actually 'out there'. This is not a popular view of course, so take it or leave it.

Ever feel good after a long warm shower or bath? I know it sounds typical,but nothing like a good hot long bath.
Ive also been an active participant of fasting. I engaged in spiritual fasts and I was able to mediate and concentrate on a whole different level. I was able to find a deep peace with meditating.

With love and light in your heart, and perhaps with some protection also from your guide/angel/God or what feels closest to you. Being in the Divine light will give you protection from everything that's not of love and light. I hope this helps a little.

Also being grounded, placing yourself in a bubble of light.
I pick up a lot of negative energies, it's just pointing myself to me. It hurts. I thank the energy and ping it back and then have a good hard look at myself.
Unless you are talking about being empathic and picking up on too many emotions?

I agree that surrounding yourself in divine light or asking the angels to help you with this. You can also use stones or crystals to ward off negative energy. Black tourmaline is good for this.

It was best told to me "ask and you shall receive" I have asked the Universe for blocking and protection and then I envision being enrobed in a beautiful bubble of light and love.
I experience physical pain when there is too much negative/sad energy touching me or around me. When I ask, and focus on it, the pain dissipates, so I know this works for me.
