While it's never a bad idea to rule out an optical complication, I do believe the seeing of lights to be very connected with ones awakening. It has much to do with your own energetic frequency. The higher your vibration level the more you will break through the veil of the 3rd dimension. Lights are just one of many abberations you may discover.

My thoughts about your specific story is that being with your TF is obviously very likely to raise your consciousness or energetic frequency, at least momentarily while with him. You may literally have seen his energy, or what I often see that is similiar to your description, Angels, which appear to me as flashes and sparkles.

There's a decent amount of info on this site in the Angels, meditation, and spirituality subforums about the light phenomenon. In my own search to learn about what appears to me as a "super bright white sun" while in meditation, and particularly what I experience as "liquid gel light" at times while my eyes are open or closed and in ANY state of consciousness I came across this page which describes Gopi Krishna and others similiar awakening experiences of light.

I wouldn't worry about, in fact try to accept it and keep your linear mind out of judging it, you may discover even more beautiful things.

I experience this as well and I'm not too sure about it either. It would happen once in a long while about a few years years ago and now it happens maybe every few days or weeks. They are like sparks of light. At first gold but now purple, blue, and white. It happens at the most random moments. I've heard it could be spirits or angels. I think that if we are moving into higher consciousness then maybe it is related to that, like piercing the veil of illusion/reality/matrix.
