THE HERMIT tarot card
This figure has so much going on in his character it's hard to know where to begin.
Anyone think he might be the "Aragorn" in hiding, biding his time to become the messiah-king?

LightofOurAge, you have given me a great gift. I will spend the remainder of my day pondering over this!

I don't think so....but am most willing to hear other people's thoughts.
The hermit to me, is more like Gandalf the Grey a spiritually wise 'elder' who moves rhythmically between a solitary life and that of fully serving others (Hermit is a teacher, therapist, healer, etc.). It is the hermit that brings the inner wisdom of the High Priestess into the light of consciousness. Nine is not a solar number, it is more lunar, withdrawn, contemplative and I believe the hermit belongs more to the Moon.

This sounds very compelling. He is very wise, and that sounds like it could happen. But my question is...If this is true, would he want to become king if given the chance?

I like what Ravenstar said about the Hermit being a spiritually wise elder, that's how I think of him too. He is holding up the light for me so I can see what I need to see.
