unrequitted love

I found this and thought it was beautiful. Felt some of you may be able to relate so i thought i'd share:

“First of all, love is a joint experience between two persons — but the fact that it is a joint experience does not mean that it is a similar experience to the two people involved. There are the lover and the beloved, but these two come from different countries. Often the beloved is only a stimulus for all the stored-up love which had lain quiet within the lover for a long time hitherto. And somehow every lover knows this. A most mediocre person can be the object of a love which is wild, extravagant, and beautiful as the poison lilies of the swamp. A good man may be the stimulus for a love both violent and debased, or a jabbering madman may bring about in the soul of someone a tender and simple idyll. Therefore, the value and quality of any love is determined solely by the lover himself.

or to be rejected by...love is as free and all around you as the air you breathe
and inside you as the spaces between all your electrons...to feel that invisible
force that permeates even your dreams is the goal...my opinion...
Forget all the forms you see...go for the formless, eternal Lover.

The word "unrequited" when linked with love is like a dagger in the heart. How could anyone's love not be returned. How unfair. The only thing worst than having your love not be returned by another is when you have unrequited love for yourself. That is the true hell on earth since you are rejecting yourself and your natural balance is to be completely in love with yourself.

Beautiful, but if you dont love yourself or have unrequitted love for yourself, then how can you really love anyone else?

EXACTLY!!!!!!! And by "really love" we're talking about unconditional love. Till you can unconditionally love yourself you'll only at best conditionally love others.
