hehe well ya know Gem orchid translated actually means large testicles lol so they say lol ... the orchid flower is said to resemble the male genitals lol (my son and his mates, as teens, had a band called Orca and thought it was great when they found out what the translation meant )

Well yeah ya probably have to go back a few thousand years SG lol i think it is a derivative or some such thing lol

Found it lol ... [From New Latin Orchideae, family name, from Latin orchis, a kind of orchid, from Greek orkhis, testicle, orchid (from the shape of its tubers).]

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/orchid

Not that it matters ...

orchid
a plant that takes its name from the Greek word 'orchis' which means 'testes.' Orchids were so named because of the resemblance of their root bulbs to testes. What emerges from this seemingly masculine looking root, however, is the beautiful flower known as an orchid. </U></I>

Silent within the mind is that one true flower
The birds sing at night, the moon grows dark
and the trees lose their bark
and the thinker becomes the knower

Minds are fully emancipated
And satiated are our true desires
and we all fly to freedom's pure shore
In pureness of love forevermore ...

By that one pure flower ...
Flower-Power! The Jewel, it is said
lies within the Heart of the Flower
When the thinker becomes the knower

They are very delicate yet still have a power about them like all orchids ... that is a really big plant and has about 4 sprays on it but i couldnt get the whole plant without it going all blurry ... I am a very very very novice photographer ... i know nothing other than to push the button lol
