I have btw also a rough sunstone, and OMG!! That is so yummie! But that's more deep orange, the coloration in the sphere is a
deep, darker brown bronze. (new bronze looks very much like copper or gold).

YOurs looks pretty amazing in that light! Does it make it transparent? Or is it a change in colour?
It would be interesting to find out what the bronze parts are made of. I'm always interested in matrix material too. I just bought a little piece of Tugtupite and I'm trying to find out what the white and black material is that it is embedded in.

My pendant of Iolite is transparant when looking at it from a lighted background but appears to be black when not backlighted. Very much the same as Apache Tear Obsidian in a way. When backlighted the color shift can be very easily seen when rolling the stone. Pretty amazing property of Iolite.
