HMMM...

I do a lot of research on healing gemstones. Through all the books and websites there seems to be numerous almost endless components that these stones hold. Anybody know of any legitiment trust worthy resources?

The stone itself. When you hold a rock or picture it in your mind, try talking to it. I've had some deep conversations with rocks and crystals. (All energy has consciousness, meaning we can talk to anything and everything) Stones are the best source because they know themselves better than anyone else, and what you see online is just their tendencies, not neccesarily reality.

Thats a good idea! I feel like maybe I've tried this before.
Is there some kind of ritual I can do to clear my mind before I begin to
start chatting? I have this oil with some type of herb in it. Its called "Clear Mind"
I just kind of rub that between my brows and take deep breaths.
I try my best to concentrate! I really try lol its just very difficult.
I'm still developing so when I sit down and try to communicate I can't tell
the difference between my own imaginitive thoughts and what's coming
through.

Maybe lighting a yellow candle and placing a citrine at the base of the candle?

Trace the energy behind the thought -if the energy is not yours it's not you :)
Also you don't need any ritual. Just stay relaxed and enjoy yourself. Have a normal telepathic conversation (start with introducing yourself, say hello, just talk and chitchat. You want the rock and you to get along, so get to know it. The better you to know each other the better you can help each other out and know one another's limits (so it doesn't crack and work's at its full potential if not beyond that :) You don't even need to concentrate if you don't want to, just direct your words and receive them like an everyday conversation.
