I think everyone has experienced this or something similar. I think that sometimes it's the Universe helping us back off for a while (for reasons unknown to us).

Do you have a meditation practice? If not, think about starting one. It's easy if you do it your own way. There isn't one right way. When it comes to meditation, one size does not fit all.
And maybe finding or creating a brief affirmation that you can repeat aloud or to yourself throughout the day might help. (I had a friend who, many years ago, repeated, "I am loopy happy!" to herself over and over for several weeks. Her life took a huge and unexpected turn for the better and quite quickly, she really was "loopy happy".)
I developed the lovely habit of jaw-clenching in my sleep when my life was very stressful. I'd wake up with horrendous headaches. But nothing stays the same and when I took charge of my life again (after a long illness), the jaw thing faded away. Point is, I know how you feel in that regard.
