My Mum was diagnosed with a progressive illness several years back but since diving head first into the world of complimentary therapy and medicine in the last 2 months, she has experienced a very noticeable reduction in her symptoms and an improved general state of well being. Long may her new wellness continue :)
For anyone who has a serious illness of disease I would recommend these 2 books.
'How your mind can heal your body'' by David Hamilton.
''Conscious Medicine'' by Gill Edwards.
(I also like Brandon Bays)
This website is also very useful I think.

Some of the stuff there doesnt come cheap, and before buying anything I would do some research, but I think some of the products are very cool. The ultimate zapper is meant to be very good, I also think a geopathic stress neutralizer is helpful, and given the importance of being hydrated, I would also be looking at some way of cleaning/energizing the water I drink. I have no personal experience of the Perkl but it looks like a great product to me... easy to use and covers a wide ground. Its not cheap though. I hear good things about Oxygenation these days too.
(Im not on commission by the way hehe - just offering some friendly suggestions based on what I have explored, discovered and experienced).
My Mum has also been doing BodyTalk, which we think is excellent (though to be fair it may be partly due to the practitioner). It releases old patterns and traumas stored in the body, and reprograms the body, without having to really explore anything at a conscious level. A relatively unknown modality which I think is good is Access Consciousness, which again clears emotional patterns, beliefs and traumas. And then there is Theta Healing which I think is very cool, but I struggle a bit with the price the practitioners charge (but maybe thats my issue!). Then of course there is Reiki, Reconnective Healing, EFT and body work such as massage (I think doing some kind of regular body work could be a helpful part of getting well in many cases)
Other things which I think could be helpful when getting well are hypnosis cds to listen to, subliminal messages which can be played whenever and wherever, and I would be doing some kind of meditation, even if its listening to binaural beats. I would also be doing regular visualization work... I know ''The Secret'' isnt to everyone's tastes (I kinda liked it) but Rhonda Byrne's second book....''The Power'' is well worth a read I feel. I think its probably very helpful to get the mind directed towards 'wellness' rather than 'beating the illness'. As Mother Teresa said, I wont join an anti-war march, but I will join a peace march. I also think a regular ho'oponopono practice could only help.
Anyway, there is my 2 cents for now. I havent even mentioned the herbal remedies and supplements because it all depends on the illness, but again I would definitely be exploring homeopathy and detox products etc. If and when I have anything more to offer I will drop by this thread. Oh, I can also recommend some healers which I think are excellent if anyone would like a recommendation.
Oh, just to be clear, Im not at all saying that I think traditional medicine should be rejected, I just think there is a lot to be said for complimentary medicine too.
