Like learning to drive while studying fabric design for the seats. So "Spiritual Bypass" is the term. Appreciate the information. However, meditation may not be exactly for me. I don't have much of a choice if I am to feel any sort of security or happiness. I have been attempting Lucid dreaming at around the same time as well. I pretty much habitually attempt to wild and all the dream recalls. Just..I don't know. My work hasn't paid off yet. Thank you all for your words. I'll try to take all of what I have heard and will hear into consideration.

I also think the authors which Sunsoul suggested are worth a look.
I agree with you that 'substances' are undesirable, lead to dependence and won't help.
Ok, so the fluff and frills of chants and teachings aren't suitable to your needs and you just want to 'drive'.
I don't know about the pranayam, but since Sunsoul mentioned it isn't really the heart of meditation, and it hasn't had affect on you, it might not be much use in your case, but it sounds like the dreams you talk about are a natural interest.
There must be a way and it's natural that you'll be guided via intuition and sensibility along the way, things will turn up if you keep your eyes peeled and just kinda follow those signs and trust your conscience.
Much happiness.
